The scholarship is initially awarded for one year and is then extended until the completion of your studies, provided that the basic conditions are met. It can be extended after the end of the study period (Regelstudienzeit).

The Rosa Luxemburg Foundation scholarship offers its beneficiaries the following benefits:
For Master's degrees: The basic monthly scholarship is €850, plus a lump sum of €20. Additional health and nursing insurance subsidies are available, not exceeding €86.
For PhDs: The PhD scholarship is largely income-independent and amounts to €1,350 per month. Additional lump sum payments of €100 are available to cover research costs and healthcare support. Scholarship holders may also receive funding to cover the costs of living abroad (for research purposes, conference attendance, etc.).

Eligibility criteria for the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation Scholarship
To qualify for a Rosa Luxemburg Foundation scholarship, a candidate must meet all of the following requirements:

- Required language: Good knowledge of English. Proficiency in German (level B2 or higher).
- Eligible countries: All countries worldwide. Priority is given to women, students from non-academic backgrounds, immigrants, those in social need, and people with disabilities, who demonstrate outstanding achievement and commitment. We strongly encourage applications from undergraduate and doctoral students in scientific and technical disciplines, as well as graduates of technical colleges.
- Applications will only be accepted in German or English.
- Master's students must be enrolled at a state university or a state-recognized German university.
- PhD students must be accepted at a German university.
