What is the Swedish Institute (SI) Global Career Scholarship?

The SI Scholarship for Global Professionals offers one- or two-year full-time Master's programmes at various Swedish universities.

SI Global Professional Scholarship Benefits

The scholarship covers the following:

  • Full tuition fees.
  • Monthly payment for living expenses.
  • Health and accident insurance.
  • Travel allowance to/from Sweden.
  • Membership in the SI Network of Future Global Professionals (NFGP).

Scholarship duration

The academic scholarship is offered for full-time Master's studies for one or two years in Sweden.

Eligibility Criteria for the SI Global Professional Scholarship

International students must meet these requirements:

  • You must secure admission to a Swedish university and receive an offer letter by January 2026.
  • You must apply for an eligible Master's programme.
  • You must be a citizen of an eligible country.
  • You must have completed 3,000 hours of prior work experience.

Note: Valid work experience includes full-time and part-time work, for example, as an employee, freelancer, or employer.

How to apply for the SI Global Professional Scholarship 2026?

Step 1: Apply for the master's program via University Admissions by January 15, 2026:

This process is centralized. You can apply to up to four master's programs .

  • Go to UniversityAdmissions.se, search for courses for Autumn 2026, and apply for your master’s program (s) by 15 January 2026.
  • You will get a personal application number consisting of eight digits after completing your application for admission.

Step 2: Apply for the Global Professionals (SI) Scholarship in February 2026

The SI Scholarship portal will open on February 9, 2026, and close on February 25, 2026. Applications are only open to those who have received an offer of admission from the university.

  • Prepare these documents to apply for the SI grant:
    • CV: CV should not exceed three pages.
    • Two letters of reference.
    • Proof of work experience
    • Copy of valid passport
    • Motivational letter
