Salary: $25 to $33 per hour
Art Ceramic Tile Ltd. is a Queenstown-based tiling company. We are currently seeking a worker to join our outstanding team in the Queenstown area. We are looking for a hard-working, well-built individual who is proficient in installing porcelain and stone tiles, as well as silicone baths, and who can work independently or with others. Maintaining our reputation for quality finishes is paramount, so it is essential to adhere to work standards that meet our and our customers' expectations. Successful applicants must possess the following :
- One year of experience as a tile worker is preferred, but not required. Training can be provided to the appropriate candidate if you have no prior experience.
- Experience is an advantage, but not a requirement. However, you must be hardworking and a quick learner.
- Cut and shape tiles to fit around obstructions and into odd spaces and angles, using hand and power cutting tools;
- Preparing different surfaces, grinding the floor for tiles, waterproofing, leveling, grouting, silicone and cleaning surfaces properly;
- Great attitude and working with our team to achieve our goals;
- Ability to receive direction from others and follow directions as needed;
- High level of responsibility, punctuality, reliability and strong attention to detail;
- Ability to safely lift and move heavy materials such as boxes of tiles, stones, and other supplies;
- Loading and unloading building materials, tools and equipment;
- You will be responsible for mixing adhesives, grouting, cutting, silicone, and site cleanup;
- You will be responsible for keeping the site clean;
- Respectful, enthusiastic, honest, and courteous behavior;
- Good level of physical fitness;
- Good character and desire to learn and develop skills;
- Knowledge in underfloor heating installation, waterproofing, floor leveling, and grouting will be an added advantage;
- A clean police record and drug record are required for this role; drug testing will be required pre- and eventually post-employment;
- Flexibility to work weekends and some long days (when necessary);
- Good references from previous jobs will be required!
- Full driving license;
- Ability to work under pressure.
