Applications are now open for the UNESCO China Fellowship 2025. It is a fully-funded fellowship offered by UNESCO and the People’s Republic of China . That is why it is known as the UNESCO-China Fellowship Programme. A total of 75 fellowships are available for students and researchers. The purpose of the UNESCO China Fellowship is to pursue a Master’s or PhD degree programme at a Chinese university or to conduct individual research under the supervision of designated supervisors in China. There is no application fee for this programme and applicants from Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Europe and the Arab region are welcome to apply. The academic period will start in September 2025. This is a fully-funded scholarship in China and all expenses will be covered by UNESCO and the Chinese government. More details are provided below.

Eligibility Criteria

• UNESCO Scholarship in China is open to people from Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Europe and Arab countries. (List of countries is given below).
• Applicants for the General Scholarship must have a high school diploma and be under 45 years of age.
• Applicants for the Senior Research Fellowship must hold a Master's degree or equivalent academic position and be under the age of 50.
• Proficiency in English is required.
• Applicants for a Master's degree must have a Bachelor's degree and be under the age of 35.
• Applicants for a PhD must have a Master's degree and be under 40 years of age.
