The CICOPS Scholarship Program in Italy for 2026, offered by the University of Pavia and EDISU, aims to promote international cooperation with developing countries. This fully-funded research program takes place at the University of Pavia for a period of 4 to 12 weeks. Researchers are required to submit their research proposals, which will be evaluated by CICOPS. If the research project aligns with a research activity at the host university, CICOPS will forward the research proposal to relevant the department. Researchers will collaborate with university professors on their research projects.

The University of Pavia in Italy offers scholarships in various disciplines, including chemistry, physics, civil engineering and engineering, electrical engineering, computer and biomedical engineering, mathematics, pharmaceutical sciences, earth and environmental sciences, biology and biotechnology, brain and behavioral sciences, internal and therapeutic medicine, molecular medicine, public health, neurosciences, experimental and forensic medicine, clinical, surgical, and diagnostic sciences, pediatrics, law, economics and management, cultural heritage, political and social sciences, and humanities. During the duration of this fully-funded scholarship in Italy for international researchers, the host department will provide access to various facilities for study and research activities, including libraries, computer facilities, and more.

After receiving the acceptance letter from the researchers, the University of Pavia will provide assistance with obtaining a visa, booking a return ticket, providing health insurance and personal accident coverage, arranging accommodation, providing a free meal card for use in the university canteens, and paying the participant's contribution. After completing the Pavia Short Research Fellowship Program, researchers will be required to prepare a report on the work they have completed at the host department and provide copies of any articles or publications.

How to apply for a CICOPS scholarship in Italy:

• Fill out the online application form after receiving an invitation letter from your contact faculty member at the University of Pavia.
• Applicants who were unable to obtain an invitation letter from a professor should contact CICOPS. They will send you a research proposal form, which you must complete and send to cicops@unipv.it .
• The CICOPS team will review your research proposal. If your research aligns with ongoing work at the university, they will forward your proposal to the relevant department and connect you with it.
