Duties and responsibilities
The objective of this role is to provide support to various teams within the Legal Department , particularly in areas related to International Humanitarian Law (IHL).
This support includes tasks such as legal research, document review, assistance with meetings and events, drafting reports, and staying abreast of ongoing discussions on international humanitarian law. Ultimately, partners help these specialized legal teams operate effectively in their areas of expertise within international humanitarian law.
Duration and salary
The training period is one year, and trainees receive a monthly salary of 4,200 euros.
Visa and permit
This position allows you to obtain a visa and permit to work and live in Geneva, Switzerland.
Eligibility criteria
- The program is open to all citizens.
- Bachelor's degree in Law or International Relations.
- LLM in Public International Law (or 5+ years of equivalent legal studies).
- Strong knowledge of international humanitarian law (more than 20 hours of relevant coursework or participation in a moot court).
- Knowledge of at least one of the following: international human rights law, refugee law, criminal law, disarmament law, treaty law, or arbitration.
- A maximum of one year of professional experience in international law after graduation (or two years including unpaid positions). Relevant experience (in government work, international organizations, etc.) is a plus.
- Proficiency in English and fluency in French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese or Russian.
