A great opportunity awaits you in France! Applications are now open for the MOPGA Fellowship 2026 in Paris, France. MOPGA stands for “Make Our Planet Great Again.” This is the 9th edition of the MOPGA Fellowship, which aims to invite 60 early-career researchers from around the world to carry out research in France. The MOPGA Visiting Fellowship 2026 is fully funded by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the French Ministry for Higher Education, Research, and Innovation, and implemented by Campus France. Fellows will conduct research in the themes listed in the Research Themes section. More details are provided below.

MOPGA Fellowship Duration

The fellowship is for 12 months. The MOPGA 2026 Visiting Research Fellowship begins in September 2026.

Eligibility criteria

  • The MOPGA scholarship is open to citizens of all countries (except France).
  • There are no restrictions on nationality.
  • 60 fellowships will be provided.
  • Applicants must not hold French nationality.
  • Applicants must be early-career international researchers who have obtained their PhD within the last five years (the dissertation must be defended between December 2020 and December 2025).
  • Applicants must not have resided in France for more than 90 days between September 12, 2025 and December 12, 2025.

Research project description

When choosing a research area, include these things:

  • Research project title
  • Keywords (6)
  • Research Project Summary (2000 characters maximum)
  • Context and Motivation (2000 characters max)
  • Scientific objectives (maximum 2000 characters)
  • Methodology and Timeline (4500 characters max)
  • Project position in relation to the scientific field of MOPGA (2000 characters maximum)
  • Collaborations and/or impacts on the candidate's country of origin or country of residence in relation to the research project proposal (maximum 2000 characters)

Required documents

  • CV including list of your publications in English (maximum 4 pages)
  • Doctoral Diploma (or Doctoral Diploma Certificate)
  • CV of your research supervisor at the French host institution (maximum two pages)
  • Letter of support from the French host institution
  • Letters of recommendation (maximum 3)
  • Passport or proof of identity.
