Applications are now open for the NIAS Safe Haven Fellowship 2026 in the Netherlands . This is a fully-funded fellowship for international candidates from all over the world . The NIAS Fellowship is offered by the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences. Eligibility criteria

  • Candidates from all countries are eligible to apply for the Safe Haven Fellowship.
  • For scientific proposals : You will need at least three years of research experience since receiving your PhD by the time of application.
  • For technical or journalistic proposals : A PhD or three years of research experience are not required.
  • Your proposed project must fall within the humanities or social sciences.
  • You must have a good command of the English language.
  • Must be physically available 4 days a week.
