Applications are now open for the 2025 UNIDIR Professional Graduate Programme in Geneva , Switzerland . This six-month training program is open to international candidates from around the world. Responsibilities

  • Conduct background research on youth, peace and security issues.
  • Support stakeholder engagement on youth-related issues (States, UN partners, and civil society).
  • Assist with fundraising activities.
  • Compilation of UNIDIR contributions to UN youth initiatives (e.g., Youth 2030).
  • Assist in planning and executing events and outreach (invitations, menus, agendas, logistics, and briefs).
  • Contribute to daily communication, coordination and management tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Eligibility criteria

  • The program is open to all citizens.
  • Must be currently enrolled in a graduate program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • Applicants who already hold a university degree may apply, provided they begin a postgraduate programme at UNIDIR within one year of their graduation date.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with backgrounds in international relations, political science, social sciences, international law, and gender studies.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe InDesign.
  • Applicants do not need professional work experience for this position.
