Education: To qualify for an internship with the United Nations internship program, the following conditions must be met:

  1. Applicants must meet one of the following requirements at the time of application:
    • To be enrolled in a graduate studies program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
    • To be enrolled in the final year of an undergraduate degree program (at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent) in journalism, communications, human development, psychology, sociology, disability inclusion, international relations, human resources, or a related field; or
    • - Must hold a university degree (as explained in paragraphs (a) and (b) above), and if selected, must begin training within one year of graduation;
    • If the student is pursuing their studies in countries where higher education is not divided into undergraduate and postgraduate levels, they have completed at least four years of full-time study at a university or equivalent institution to complete a degree in journalism, communications, human development, psychology, sociology, disability inclusion, international relations, human resources, or a related field;
  1. To have knowledge of standard word processing and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel or similar programs, and to be proficient in standard office automation equipment (scanner, printer, etc.).
  2. They have shown great interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the principles of the United Nations Charter.
  3. - Demonstrate the ability to interact successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and beliefs, including a willingness to try to understand and tolerate different opinions and viewpoints.
