WTO Young Professionals Programme 2026 in Switzerland (Fully Funded)

Applications are now open for the 2026 WTO Young Professionals Programme in Geneva, Switzerland . This fully-funded one-year training program will provide professionals with practical experience on the World Trade Organization (WTO) and international trade issues. WTO stands for World Trade Organization. All selected fellows will work at the WTO Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland . Selected professionals will receive a stipend of CHF 4,000, medical coverage, and travel expenses . The WTO YPP is scheduled to start in January 2026. There is no application fee, and candidates from WTO Member States are eligible to apply. The purpose of the program is to gain knowledge on international trade, rules and policies, development, rights, technical issues, and more. The program offers a one-year, non-extendable opportunity to gain practical experience at the WTO. Applicants may select three preferred areas of work at the WTO, ranked in order of preference. Areas of work may include:

Eligibility criteria

  • Be a citizen of a WTO member state. The list of members  is available here.
  • Education: Advanced university degree in:
    • law
    • Economy
    • Other topics related to international trade and the work of the WTO
  • Experience: At least 2 years of professional experience in a related field.
  • Language: Fluent in English.
  • Age: Must not exceed 32 years.
