Applications are now open for the YOJO Young Journalists Program 2026. This is a full-time, paid placement in Athens, Greece . The program lasts for one or two years and is open to candidates from all over the world . The program targets undergraduates, graduates , and final-year students from all countries to become YOJO reporters. The goal of this program is to invite the next generation of reporters who will shape the future of independent journalism through impactful, transparent, and innovative journalism. YOJO places a strong emphasis on video content. The program will select 20 applicants from around the world, and participants will be relocated to Athens, Greece, in January 2026. Knowledge of the Greek language is not required.

YOJO Journalist Duties

  • Action Reports: Covering events in Greece and the world, with real-time reporting.
  • Impact Stories: Producing important stories such as political, investigative, international, or conflict-related journalism.
  • Video-first content: Creating engaging digital news, including video reports.
  • Innovative storytelling: Augmented reality, virtual reality, extended reality, data-driven journalism, and artificial intelligence tools.
  • Skill development: Master the latest broadcasting and media technologies.
  • Strong Portfolio: Build a strong portfolio.

Eligibility criteria

  • Nationality : Open to all citizens.
  • Education: You must be a recent graduate (as of October 2023) or a final-year undergraduate or graduate student.
  • Language: You must be fluent in English.
  • Experience: No previous newsroom experience required.
  • Relocation: You must be willing to relocate to Athens, Greece.
