Australian scholarships provide beneficiaries with the following benefits:

Eligibility Criteria for Australian Scholarships

• Not be an Australian citizen, hold Australian permanent residency, or apply for a visa to live in Australia permanently.
• Be a citizen of a participating country (as listed on the Australia Awards website) and be resident in your country of citizenship and apply for the scholarship from there.
• Not be married, engaged, or de facto in a relationship with a person who holds or is eligible for Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency at any time during the application, selection, or mobilisation stages (Note: Cook Islands, Niue, and Tokelau residents who hold New Zealand citizenship are eligible but must apply for a student visa [subclass 500]).
• They have not previously held a long-term Australian Award unless they have resided outside Australia for twice the total period they have been in Australia (for example, a previous recipient of an Australian Awards Scholarship in Australia for four years will not be eligible to apply for another Australian Awards Scholarship until they have resided outside Australia for eight years).
