Applications are now open for the Azerbaijan Government Scholarship for the 2026/2027 academic year . This program commemorates Heydar Aliyev, the national leader of Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan are pleased to announce the " Heydar Aliyev International Scholarship for Education" for the 2026-2027 academic year. This scholarship is available to international students wishing to enroll in preparatory courses , Bachelor's , Master's , and PhD programs, and general medicine/ medical residency programs . The scholarship is for five years, and approximately 100 scholarships will be awarded . There are no application fees. Eligibility criteria
- The scholarship is available to all nationalities except Azerbaijani
- Nationality: Scholarship applications will not be considered from citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan or individuals whose citizenship in the Republic of Azerbaijan has been terminated.
- University and general medicine programs: Foreign nationals must not be older than 35 years.
- Postgraduate and medical residency programs: Foreign nationals must not be older than 40 years.
- PhD programs: Foreign nationals must not be older than 45 years.

The application process, step by step:

- The relevant authorities will then select and nominate qualified candidates.
