A fantastic scholarship to launch your career in South Korea. Applications are now open for the 2026 KAIST University Undergraduate Scholarship for the Fall semester . To support international students, KAIST offers the " KAIST Full Scholarship ," which covers full tuition fees, living expenses, and health insurance. The KAIST Scholarship is open to all international applicants from around the world. International students currently enrolled at another university are also eligible to apply. International students are not required to have TOPIK (Korean Proficiency Test) scores when applying. The academic year begins in September/October 2026. Applicants graduating by August 2026 are also eligible to apply for the regular KAIST program. For more details, please see below.

All students will receive a full KAIST scholarship. The KAIST scholarship for international undergraduate students includes the following:

  • Full tuition fees : Tuition fee waiver for 8 semesters, covering the entire program for 4 years.
  • Living expenses : 350,000 Korean won per month
  • National Health Insurance.

KAIST scholarship requirements

  • The applicant must be an international student.
  • KAIST offers scholarships to admitted students. Therefore, you should apply for admission, and you will automatically receive a KAIST scholarship. No separate application is required.
  • Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.7 out of 4.3 at KAIST after the first year.

English language proficiency test requirements

Submitting English proficiency test (EPT) scores, such as TOEFL and IELTS, is recommended in addition to standardized test scores, but not mandatory . Those without test scores can still apply. There will be no disadvantage .

Eligibility criteria

  • Applicants who hold foreign citizenship.
  • Neither of the applicant's parents is a Korean citizen; or
  • Applicants of Korean descent must have received their primary, junior, and senior education entirely outside of Korea.
  • Applicants who hold Korean citizenship (including dual citizenship) are not eligible to apply as international students.
  • Pay the application fee.
