The Ansi Sawiris Scholarship Program 2026-2027 is a fully funded scholarship for international undergraduate and graduate students. This scholarship covers full tuition fees, living allowance, travel, and health insurance.

The Ansi Sawiris Scholarship Program is available to Egyptian students to pursue undergraduate or master's degrees at top American universities. These scholarships are awarded based on character and merit, as demonstrated by academic excellence, entrepreneurial initiative, and extracurricular activities. The scholarships cover full tuition, living expenses, travel, and health insurance. Recipients are also offered the opportunity to intern at the company.

Orascom Construction launched the "Ansi Sawiris Program" in 2000 to invest the company's resources in educational programs aimed at improving the communities in which it operates. This program is considered a model in Egypt for the private sector's sustainable participation in educational programs. The program aims to support the academic development and character building of young Egyptians, equipping them with the tools to advance their careers and, consequently, serve the communities in which they live.

Preference is given to candidates who have not lived, studied, or worked abroad for an extended period. The Ansi Sawiris Scholarship Program is awarded only to graduates of the following universities: the University of Chicago, Stanford University, Harvard University, and the University of Pennsylvania.

Eligibility criteria for the Ansi Sawiris Scholarship Program

To be eligible for the Ansi Sawiris Scholarship Program, you must:

For university students:

  • To be an Egyptian citizen, i.e., a resident of Egypt (preference will not be given to applicants with dual citizenship).
  • They plan to start their studies in the United States of America in 2025.
  • - Commitment to return to Egypt for two years immediately after successfully completing the Bachelor's degree.
  • I have not lived abroad for more than 3 years.
  • iBT TOEFL test: 100 or higher
  • A cumulative grade point average of 3.5/90% in the high school diploma (second year of high school) or its equivalent.
  • Minimum SAT I score:
    • Old SAT test (before May 2017): Total: 2100 Reading: 700 Math: 700 Writing: 700
    • New SAT test (post-May 2017): Total: 1450, Evidence-Based Reading and Writing: 730, Math: 730
  • Or SAT II in 3 subjects: 600 or higher.
  • Do some extracurricular activities.

For Master's degrees:

  • - To be an Egyptian citizen, and residing in Egypt (preference will be given to those without dual citizenship).
  • Plan to pursue a master's degree at one of the top universities in the United States in the field of business administration or engineering.
  • I have not lived abroad for more than 3 years.
  • - Commitment to return to Egypt for two years immediately after completing the bachelor's degree.
  • TOEFL iBT = 100 or higher
  • Cumulative GPA: 3.5 / Very Good or higher (Overall Grade)
  • - Work experience of no less than three years.
  • Master of Business Administration – GMAT test: 650 or higher (obtained within 5 years)
  • Extracurricular activities: They have participated or are currently participating in extracurricular activities.
  • Old GRE scores are no longer acceptable.
  • New GRE scores: Minimum acceptable
    • Total: 302
    • Analytical writing: 4.5
  • Fields of study: Engineering, Business Administration, and Construction Management.

Important notes:

  • Applications from candidates holding an Egyptian master's degree in a technical field different from the field they are applying for will be considered.
  • Applications will not be considered from candidates who already hold a master's degree from a foreign university, or who hold an Egyptian master's degree in the same field they are applying for.
  • Being selected as a candidate for the Ansi Sawiris Scholarship Program does not guarantee university admission. Applicants will only be supported in applying to the universities listed below. If nominated, the Ansi Sawiris Scholarship Program grant will be awarded upon your university admission.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have not lived, worked or studied abroad for a significant period of time.
  • The Ansi Sawiris Scholarship Program is awarded only to the list of accredited universities.

To obtain a university scholarship:

  • Enter all personal data.
  • Enter all your educational information.
  • Answer these two questions in the statement of purpose section:
    • Q1: Considering your personal, local, and national interests related to your future, how can you achieve success on these different levels by attending the university you wish to apply to? Write a 500-word essay discussing this. Please note that the essay is an essential part of your application.
    • Q2: What are you passionate about? How have you pursued your passion throughout your life? Your essay must be 350 printed words. Please note that the essay is an essential part of your application.
  • Attach these files in the attachments section:
