Online Learning Resources

  • Undergraduate students will receive between $2,500 and $15,000 as follows:
    • a) One year: $2,500 to $8,000 is applied to tuition fees in the first year.
    • b) Two-year term: $2,500 to $12,000, with the amount not to exceed $8,000 in the first year of study and not to exceed $4,000 in the second year of study. Last updated August 4, 2023
    • c) Three-year period: between $2,500 and $15,000, with the amount not exceeding $8,000 in the first year of study, not exceeding $4,000 in the second year, and not exceeding $3,000 in the third year of study.

  • Graduate students will receive an amount ranging from $2,500 to $15,000 that will be applied to one or more years of the recipient's graduate study.

Eligibility Criteria for University of Waikato Scholarships

To qualify for a University of Waikato scholarship, a candidate must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Required language:  English.
  • Eligible countries:  All countries of the world.
  • To be eligible, applicants must:
    • Apply for full-time enrolment in an undergraduate or postgraduate programme, as a new international student at the University of Waikato;
    • - Have a conditional or unconditional offer of a place from the University of Waikato (including a pathway offer for a combined degree with a Certificate of Achievement in English; Certificate of Achievement in Basic Studies; Certificate of University Preparation; International Diploma (Business); International Diploma (Computer Science) or Diploma of Postgraduate Preparation (Pre-Masters) at the University of Waikato;
    • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of B+ in the qualification used for admission to the University of Waikato;
    • Not be currently enrolled at the University of Waikato in any undergraduate or postgraduate programme and have not paid fees at the time of application;
    • Not attending the University of Waikato through a sponsoring body; Not attending the University of Waikato under a guaranteed credit arrangement, or through a study abroad or student exchange agreement.

  • Complete the application before you  can apply for scholarships and awards (this application is not a commitment to study here at the University of Waikato and can be withdrawn or updated at any time).
