Eligibility Criteria for ADB Scholarship
To be considered for an ADB Scholarship at APU, you must meet the requirements below.
- Be a citizen of an ADB member country and a Japanese Official Development Assistance (ODA) eligible country.
- - Not holding dual citizenship of any developed country.
- They currently reside and work in their country of origin.
- You must have at least two years of full-time work experience after earning a bachelor's degree.
- Demonstrate proficiency in oral and written communication skills in English.
- Be 35 years of age or younger at the time of application.
- Not currently enrolled in a graduate degree program.
- In principle, it is not permissible to obtain a bachelor's or master's degree outside their home country.
- Not pursuing a second master's degree.
- Annual household income must not exceed $50,000, and annual individual income must not exceed $25,000. If selected, applicants must provide a proof of income.

How to apply for an ADB scholarship at the University of Asia and the Pacific?
Follow these steps:
- Applicants must first apply to APU through the online application system. The university is accepting applications for all graduate programs for the 2026 intake.
- Application for this scholarship is submitted through the APU Online Application.
- Submit your application by January 9, 2026.
- Applicants must, along with their application, upload a certificate of employment issued by their current employer/company.
- If the current employment period is less than two years , a certificate of employment from the previous employer must also be provided.
- Both certificates must clearly state the start and end dates of employment, as well as the monthly or annual income.
- Alternatively, the most recent income tax return may be submitted to verify the applicant's annual or monthly salary.
- APU will submit the list of finalists to the Asian Development Bank Scholarship Committee. The ADB-JSP will determine the final scholarship awards.
