The Chevening Scholarship 2026-2027 is a fully funded master's scholarship for international students. The Chevening Scholarship covers undergraduate tuition fees, a monthly living allowance, a return economy-class airfare to the UK, and additional grants and stipends to cover essential expenses.
Chevening Scholarships provide future leaders and influencers from around the world with a unique opportunity for professional and academic growth, extensive networking, exposure to British culture, and the building of strong and meaningful relationships with the United Kingdom. Chevening is the UK government's international scholarship scheme designed to develop global leaders. Approximately 1,500 scholarships will be available worldwide.
Funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations, the Chevening program offers two types of award—Chevening Scholarships and Chevening Fellowships—with recipients personally selected worldwide by British Embassies and High Commissions.

Eligibility criteria for a Chevening Scholarship
To be eligible for a Chevening Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Required language: English
- Eligible Countries: Scholarships are open to citizens of Chevening-eligible countries. For a full list of eligible countries, please visit the official website.
- Return to your country of nationality for at least two years after the scholarship ends.
- You must have completed all the requirements for a bachelor's degree that qualifies you for entry to a postgraduate program at a UK university by the time you apply. This is typically equivalent to an upper second-class (2:1) honours degree in the UK but may vary depending on your course and the university you choose.
- - He must have at least two years of work experience (equivalent to 2,800 hours).
- Apply to three different eligible UK university courses and receive an unconditional offer from one of these choices by July.
You are not eligible for a Chevening Scholarship if you:
- Be a British national or hold dual British nationality (unless you are a British Overseas Territory citizen or hold a BN(O) and are applying from Hong Kong).
- Applicants must be citizens of a Chevening-eligible country and hold refugee status in a Chevening-eligible country to be eligible for a scholarship.
- An employee, former employee, or relative* of an employee of Her Majesty's Government, or have been, within the last two years of Chevening applications being open (including British Embassies/High Commissions; Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy; Department for International Trade; Ministry of Defence; and Home Office), a faculty member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
- Employees, former employees, or relatives* of an employee of Chevening Partner organisations are eligible to apply, but if employed within the last two years, you will not be able to receive a Chevening Partner award from the organisation you work for, have previously worked for, or are affiliated with through relatives.
- I have previously studied in the UK on a UK government-funded scholarship.

- Conditional offers for proposed courses (up to three).
- Unconditional offers for proposed courses (up to three) (You must upload at least one unconditional offer by July).
- References (If you are invited for an interview, you will be invited to upload two references).
