Eligibility criteria for the Commonwealth Master's Scholarship 2026-27 in the UK:

  • The applicant must be a citizen of an eligible Commonwealth country, have refugee status, or be a person protected by the UK.
  • Applicants must be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country.
  • Applicants must be available to start their studies in the UK in September 2026.
  • Before starting the scholarship programme, candidates must have at least a first class upper second class honours degree, or lower second class, and a relevant postgraduate qualification (Master's degree).
  • Applicants must not be able to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship.
  • Candidates must submit all required documents in the specified format.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have already completed their undergraduate degrees and cannot finance a second Master's degree.
  • Applicants for a second master's degree must provide a reason for enrolling in this study program.
  • Applicants who have previously studied at Masters level in the UK (at Masters level) are not eligible to apply.
  • After completing their studies, candidates must return to their home countries.
  • Candidates cannot switch to a Postgraduate visa or any other visa to stay in the UK.
