Scholarship coverage

The Melbourne Research Grants offer the recipient the following benefits:

Scholarships that include a stipend and tuition coverage

Full tuition fee coverage for up to two years for students studying for a Master's degree by research or for up to four years for students studying for a PhD.
A living allowance of US$37,000 per year (based on the 2024 full-time tuition rate) is provided for up to two years to students enrolled in a research master's program, or for up to 3.5 years to students enrolled in a doctoral program. The living allowance is adjusted annually for inflation and includes limited paid sick leave, maternity leave, and parental leave.
A $2,000 relocation grant for students transferring from states or territories other than Victoria, or $3,000 for students transferring from outside Australia.
Individual membership for Overseas Student Health Insurance (OSHC) for international students who require a student visa to study in Australia

If you are a new student and have applied for a graduate research course by the application closing date for that course, you will be automatically considered for the Graduate Research Scholarships. You will receive a notification that a scholarship application has been added to your record within seven days of having submitted your course application.
If you have received an offer for a graduate research course and deferred commencement of your course to the following year, or you are currently enrolled in a graduate research course for which you seek a scholarship, you will need to submit an online application form.
