How long is the scholarship?

The maximum duration of the scholarship is two (2) years for the Master’s programme.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for the ADB Scholarship Program, candidates must:

  • To be a citizen of an ADB member country
  • Must be nominated by the University of Tokyo.
  • You have at least two years of full-time professional experience.
  • Not older than 35 years of age at the time of application.
  • Agree to return and work in his/her home country for a period of not less than two years after completing the Master’s degree.
  • Meet the admission requirements of the University of Tokyo.

  • Step 4: Only successful candidates will be required to submit the ADB Scholarship application documents.
  • Step 5: ADB-JSP will notify the university of the result.
  • Step 6: Enter Japan with a student visa (late September).
