To qualify for the Mohammed Bin Zaid University scholarship, the candidate must meet all of the following requirements:
- Language requirement: English. Each applicant must prove their English proficiency by submitting a TOEFL iBT test score of at least 90, or an IELTS Academic test score of at least 6.5.
- Eligible countries: All countries of the world.
- Master's Requirements: A Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent from a reputable university accredited or recognized by the UAE Ministry of Education. Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 (out of 4.0) or equivalent and submit their full university transcripts and grade reports (in English) with their application.
- PhD Requirements: A Master of Science degree or equivalent from a reputable university accredited or recognized by the UAE Ministry of Education. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.2 (out of 4.0) or equivalent and submit their full university transcripts and grade reports (in English) with their application.
- Students must also submit a certificate attestation (for certificates issued in the UAE) or an equivalency certificate (for certificates issued outside the UAE) during their first semester of university studies. - Statement of Purpose : In an essay of 500 to 1000 words, the applicant presents their motivations for applying to the university. - Research Proposal (for PhD students) : This is a 3- to 5-page document summarizing the potential research project the applicant wishes to pursue. The proposal must clearly justify the research gap the applicant aims to address during their studies. It must be presented within the context of the existing literature. The proposal should provide an overview of how the applicant intends to investigate the core research project and what the expected outcomes are. The proposal can also indicate its relevance and suitability to the project. Finally, the proposal should highlight the scientific and commercial significance of the project. Please note that applicants are expected to write their research proposals entirely independently. The selection team at Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) will review the applicant's proposal and use it as one of the criteria for assessing and evaluating their skills. MBZUAI faculty members will not assist applicants in writing a research proposal for application purposes.
