Job duties

  • Farm equipment operation:
    • Crawler boats, tractors (with multi-tools), four-wheel drive vehicles, sprayers
    • Inspect equipment, perform repairs, and perform maintenance when needed.
  • Land and crop management:
    • Land preparation, ponding, and grading
    • Fertilizing, planting, transplanting, harvesting, loading, and transporting crops
  • Using hand tools:
    • Hoes, shovels, garden tools, rakes, pruning shears, pruning shears
  • Crash traps equipment maintenance:
    • Baiting, adjusting, collecting, repairing, cleaning, and storing
  • Irrigation and Water Management:
    • Maintenance, repair, and operation of irrigation equipment
    • Create earth rings around fields and ponds, drain excess water, and check standing water.
  • Cleaning and maintenance:
    • Remove trash and debris from work areas, buildings, and fields.
    • Compliance with OSHA sanitation standards (e.g., drinking water quality, facility cleanliness)
  • Maintenance tasks:
    • Mowing lawns, digging ditches or gutters, minor repairs to buildings or fencing
  • Communication and Reports:
    • Reporting crop progress to the farm manager
