Topic : Digital soft power and cultural diplomacy in the age of algorithms.
Imagine a world connected to the internet and social media. Algorithms (like those that determine what you see online) play a huge role in our experiences.
As a result, the way countries build their “soft power” (influencing others to like and respect them through culture and ideas) and engage in “cultural diplomacy” (using culture to communicate with other countries) is undergoing major changes.
This international youth forum brings together leaders from diverse fields to discuss the interconnectedness of technology, culture, and international relations, promoting understanding and dialogue in the digital age.
Goals
- Understanding the impact of digital platforms and algorithmic systems on cultural narratives and soft power.
- Defining an ethical and comprehensive approach to digital diplomacy.
- Learning from successful global and regional digital cultural diplomacy initiatives.
- Creating a global network of emerging experts and leaders at the intersection of technology and cultural diplomacy.
Eligibility criteria
- The program is open to all citizens.
- Anyone aged 18 or over who studies or works in fields such as international relations, communications, cultural studies, diplomacy, technology, social sciences, media, arts, or related disciplines.
- Those interested in digital platforms, diplomacy, or working across cultures are encouraged.
- IELTS certificate is not required.
