a description

Join the Lille Youth Center in the heart of Tartu! The Lille Youth Center houses two youth centers in one building. The basement serves young people aged 12-19, while the first floor is for children aged 7-11. We are looking for separate volunteers to support these age groups. You will be a great addition to our team of 7 youth workers. Volunteers will assist the youth workers, interact with the youth, and help with events and activities. The older youth center provides a pool table, foosball table, and Xbox games, while both centers offer a welcoming space for socializing and activities, all free of charge. Our team supports young people outside the center by leading initiatives, organizing workshops, and planning citywide events such as Tartu Youth Day. The 12-18 center also promotes health and well-being through weekly clubs and activities.

Accommodation, food and transportation arrangements

Accommodation costs will be covered. Volunteers will stay in a house in the village of Marja, with other international volunteers. The volunteer will receive monthly pocket money and a meal allowance, with the possibility of eating meals in the village. Transportation costs from their home country to Estonia and back will be covered according to the Erasmus+ distance calculator. Visa costs will also be covered, if necessary.

Training during activity

The volunteer will have a mentor to help with any problems and support the learning process. A weekly meeting is held with staff and other volunteers to review activities and plan for the upcoming week. In addition, all volunteers and staff take monthly trips to various locations in Estonia to learn more about our nature, culture, and traditions. The volunteer will attend pre-departure meetings and on-arrival and mid-term training, provided by the Estonian National Agency.
