Are you ready for a unique adventure near the Arctic Circle ? Applications are now open for a special volunteer project within the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) in Vevelstad , one of the smallest municipalities in Northern Norway.

Under the motto “Imagination is your only limit,” this project invites you to participate for 10 months (from September 2026 to June 2027) to live amidst stunning nature, learn the Norwegian language, and contribute to the development of the local community.

This opportunity is fully funded and available to young people from Arab countries (such as Egypt, Algeria, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Tunisia, and others).

Funding and benefits of a volunteer opportunity in Norway near the Arctic Circle

The accepted volunteer receives a comprehensive funding package financed by the European Union:

  • Monthly salary: pocket money and food allowance.
  • Accommodation: Living in a private apartment shared with another volunteer (or partly with a host family).
  • Airfare tickets: Coverage of round-trip travel costs.
  • Mobility: Coverage of transportation to and from work.
  • Training and language: Norwegian language lessons are provided, in addition to on-arrival and mid-term training.
  • Certification: Obtaining the Europeanly recognized Youthpass certificate.

Nature of work and activities in a volunteer opportunity in Norway near the Arctic Circle

Volunteers at the “Volunteer Center” will work to assist with the following tasks:

  • Organizing indoor and outdoor activities for residents of the municipality of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Support the local youth council in their projects.
  • Working with children, the elderly, and refugees to integrate them into society.
  • Share your hobbies and passions (whether in film, photography, music, arts, dance, cooking, or sports) with the local community.

Eligibility requirements for applying for a volunteer opportunity in Norway near the Arctic Circle

  • Age: 18 to 30 years old .
  • Nationality: Open to applicants from Egypt, Algeria, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia , and most countries of the world.
  • Love of nature: You must be a lover of nature and the outdoors, and not mind the fluctuations of the weather (the region is cold and northern).
  • Personality: An open-minded, positive person, willing to live in a quiet rural environment away from the hustle and bustle of big cities.
  • Readiness: A desire to learn about rural Norwegian culture and integrate into the small community.
