a description

We are looking for a volunteer willing to work in a friendly and very supportive school in the village of Waganowice near Kraków, Poland. The project starts on September 1, 2025, and runs until August 13, 2026. The volunteer's tasks will be to support the students in their daily learning. Recently, volunteers have been supporting students with disabilities to focus during activities, to be fully active and engaged. This includes individual work with some students during lessons. Volunteers also assist during walks outside the school area and school trips to other locations. There is also room for the volunteers' own projects. This project provides an opportunity to develop intercultural, interpersonal, and laboratory skills. It requires good time management, as the host organization is located outside the city, and to get there, the volunteer needs to wake up early in the morning to catch the school bus. But it is very satisfying.

Accommodation, food and transportation arrangements

The volunteer will reside with another educational service center hosted by IB Polska in a rented apartment in Kraków and will commute to school each morning. IB Polska provides a monthly pass for public transportation in Kraków, as well as from Kraków to Solominki. The volunteer will receive a food allowance and pocket money on the first days of each month.

Training during activity

Each volunteer participates in an introductory meeting organized by the sending organization before the project begins. IB Polska organizes an introductory meeting and networking sessions during the first weeks of the project. Volunteers also participate in two mandatory meetings offered by the Polish National Agency: an on-arrival training shortly after the project begins, and a mid-term evaluation during the second part of the project. IB Polska organizes regular meetings with the volunteer group, in addition to individual meetings. Volunteers have access to a Polish language course and online training.

Participant's profile

We are looking for candidates between the ages of 18 and 30 (according to the ES Program rules). Candidates should be open to other cultures and the learning opportunities available within the project. IB Polska will be hosting a group of volunteers from other countries, so it is important to us that project participants feel respected and safe.
