The Slovakia National Scholarship Program 2027 offers an excellent opportunity for international students, PhD candidates, university teachers, researchers, and artists to undertake funded academic and research stays in Slovakia. Supported by the Slovak Government, the program promotes international mobility, academic cooperation, and cultural exchange between Slovakia and other countries.
Established in 2005, the National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic (NSP) supports study, research, teaching, and artistic mobility at Slovak universities and research institutions. The program is funded by the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic and administered by the Slovak Academic Information Agency, SAIA.
Selected participants receive a monthly scholarship to help cover living expenses during their stay in Slovakia. Eligible university students and PhD candidates may also apply for a separate travel allowance based on the distance between their home institution or residence and the host institution in Slovakia.

Eligibility Criteria for National Scholarship Program 2027
- Open to applicants from all countries
- Must be enrolled at a university outside Slovakia
- Master’s students should be enrolled in second-level higher education.
- Undergraduate students must have completed at least 2.5 years of studies
- Intended only for short-term study/research stays
- Must receive an invitation or acceptance from a Slovak institution
- Must submit a study or research plan
- Language proficiency in Slovak or English may be required
- Researchers and teachers must meet professional experience requirements
