About the job:
As a hotel shift manager, you will oversee daily operations, ensuring high-quality customer service and smooth running of the hotel. In addition to reception and administrative duties, you will effectively assist the housekeeping team, supporting their tasks as needed to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
Main responsibilities:
Manage daily hotel operations, including check-in and check-out, and guest inquiries and complaints.
Supervise and monitor room service and reception staff.
Managing reservations, cancellations, electronic reservation systems, guest communication, and guest reviews.
Ensure excellent customer service and resolve guest issues efficiently.
Assist and support the room service team in their duties to ensure rooms are ready on time.
Maintaining the hotel's internal and external cleanliness, safety, and compliance with health regulations.
Monitor occupancy levels and assist in revenue management.
Supervise inventory control and order supplies upon request from the manager.
Assist in preparing basic work schedules, work schedules, and staff management.
Requirements:
- Strong leadership and customer service skills.
- Willingness to assist with room service tasks when needed.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Experience in reservation systems.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Legal right to work in New Zealand (visa sponsorship may be considered for the right candidate)
