About the Fellowship

The fellowship is designed to support journalists in covering negotiations, discussions, and outcomes from the UN Biodiversity Conference (COP17). Fellows will receive guidance from experienced environmental journalists and biodiversity experts to strengthen their reporting before, during, and after the conference.

The program seeks to increase awareness of biodiversity loss, conservation challenges, and policy solutions while improving public understanding of global biodiversity issues

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be professional journalists working for established media organizations or freelance journalists with a strong publication record.
  • Be from a low- or middle-income country, as classified by the  World Bank
  • Have experience reporting on environmental, biodiversity, conservation, or related issues.
  • Demonstrate a clear plan for reporting on COP17.
  • Be available to attend the conference in person in Yerevan, Armenia.
  • Submit the application in English.
  • Provide examples of previously published work.
